The Warrant is the official notice to the residents of the various issues being considered at the Town Meeting. Town Meeting can only consider issues within the scope of articles in the warrant for that Town Meeting. The actual motion offered at Town Meeting may differ from the wording of the Warrant but it, and any amendments made by Town Meeting members must cover the same subject matter (except for procedural motions such as to delay consideration or not to consider an item).
